Chromatography with ZeroSept® by LABC
Overview
ZeroSept® closures are what LABC-Labortechnik calls its innovative, high-purity and high-quality closures for trace analysis. Only absolutely pure septa, i.e. septa that are as free as possible from blank values, receive the “ZeroSept®” rating. The caps fit our standard vials and threads.
The ZeroSept® AIR septum is characterised by. It does not require an elastomer, but has a comparable sealing effect. Even with multiple penetration.
Interference peak-free chromatography with ZeroSept® . As if the needle had never pierced a septum.
ZeroSept® ALUmono-O
ZeroSept® ALUmono-O are closures consisting of a pure aluminium septum. The septum is held in the cap by an O-ring. This prevents the cap from falling out and ensures a higher tightness. ZeroSept® ALUmono-O are available in the following variants.
ND11 ZeroSept® ALUmono-O
The 9mm short thread caps with high purity, 0.06mm thick aluminium septum suitable for GC-MS and LC-MS can be easily pierced with a 26 gauge needle( 0.464mm)! A colourless silicone O-ring between PP cap and aluminium septum ensures 100% tightness.

ND11 ZeroSept® ALUmono-O
ND11 aluminium flared cap, lacquered, with hole and groove (rolling)*, fluoroplastic O-ring** and an aluminium foil as phthalate-free septum. The closure is designed for high temperatures. Aluminium foil 0.1mm thick.
*prevents the septum from falling out of the ND11 cap during transport!

ZeroSept® PTFEmono
ZeroSept® PTFEmono are closures consisting of a pure PTFE septum. The thin PTFE film is inserted into the closure in a single layer. It is not held by an O-ring and is therefore less tight than mono-O versions. ZeroSept® PTFEmono are available in the following variants. Special sizes not listed are available on request.

ZeroSept® AIR
Revolutionary septum for trace analysis with ZeroSept AIR technology

The new septum seal with an air cushion instead of an elastomer for standard vial closures. Due to its innovative design, the ZeroSept®AIR septum PTFEvirginal/AIR/PTFEvirginal has a high tightness, even with multiple injections! The double PTFE film without an elastomer component makes the septum highly pure and very interesting for trace analysis, among other things. It fits, in combination with our standard bottles, into all common GC/ HPLC systems and can also be moved with your autosampler in the magnetic version.
Advantages of the ZeroSept®AIR septum:
- the thickness of the ZeroSept®AIR septum is analogous to that of a conventional elastomer septum. Therefore, the flanging tool does not need to be readjusted for rolled edge closures.
- due to the firm connection of the PTFE foils with the fluoropolymer perforated disc, the inserted ZeroSept®AIR septum does not fall out of the pre-assembled closures during transport and when piercing with the cannula, the smooth, thin foils can no longer be pressed into the sample.
- the syringe needle cannot punch out elastomer material when piercing the septum and thus possibly contaminate the sample
- the air-filled cavity and two pierced PTFE foils significantly reduce the evaporation of solvent and the associated change in concentration of the sample solution in the sample vial. This allows reproducible determinations from the same sample, e.g. within 24-36 hours after the initial injection. (see also ZeroSept AIR closure tightness test)”.
We offer the high-purity ZeroSept®AIR closure in the classic 100-piece pack in a screw-top jar with an orange lid with PTFE seal and, for example, a screw cap. also available as a ready-to-use MOSH/MOAH kit consisting of 100 headspace vials and 100 high purity ZeroSept®AIR ND18 caps.
We have described further information on the use of the ZeroSept®AIR ND18 in MOSH/MOAH analysis in a separate report. In addition to MOSH/MOAH analysis, the high-purity and interference peak-free septa are also used in other analyses.

ZeroSept® FUN
ZeroSept® FUN is designed for interference-free analyses with ND9 short thread bottles, among others. As part of the high-purity ZeroSept® range, it is ideally suited for special analyses.

ZeroSept® FPM/PTFE
ZeroSept® FPM/PTFE combines maximum purity with excellent chemical resistance. The thin PTFE membrane prevents Viton/FPM from coming into direct contact with the sample and thus protects against contamination. Ideal for precise analyses and can be used in a temperature range from -40 °C to 200 °C.

ZeroSept® SILP are high purity silicone closures. Our silicone is a new and particularly clean compound and ensures low-interference peak measurements.
