Overview
LABC-Labortechnik calls its innovative, high-purity, high-quality closures for trace analysis “ZeroSept® closures”. Only absolutely pure septa, i.e. septa that are as free as possible from blank values, receive the “ZeroSept®” designation. The caps fit our standard vials and threads.
Das ZeroSept® AIR-Septum zeichnet sich aus. Es kommt ohne Elastomer aus, hat aber eine vergleichbare Dichtwirkung. Auch bei mehrfacher Penetrierung.

ZeroSept® ALUmono-O
ZeroSept® ALUmono-O are closures consisting of a pure aluminium septum. The septum is held in place by an O-ring in the cap. This prevents the cap from falling out and ensures a higher tightness. ZeroSept® ALUmono-O is available in the following variants.
ND11 ZeroSept® ALUmono-O
The 9 mm short thread caps with high-purity, 0.06 mm thick aluminium septum suitable for GC-MS and LC-MS can be easily pierced with a 26 gauge (0.464 mm) needle! A colourless silicone O-ring between the PP cap and aluminium septum ensures 100% tightness.

ND11 ZeroSept® ALUmono-O
ND11 aluminum crimp cap, painted, with hole and groove (rolling)*, fluoroplastic O-ring** and an aluminum foil as a phthalate-free septum. The cap is designed for high temperatures. Aluminum foil 0.1 mm thick.

ZeroSept® PTFEmono
ZeroSept® PTFEmono are closures consisting of a pure PTFE septum. The thin PTFE film is inserted into the closure in a single layer. It is not held in place by an O-ring and is therefore less leak-proof than mono-O versions. ZeroSept® PTFEmono are available in the following versions. ZeroSept® AIR
Revolutionary septum for trace analysis with ZeroSept AIR technology

The new septum seal with an air cushion instead of an elastomer for standard vial closures. Due to its innovative design, the ZeroSept®AIR septum PTFEvirginal/AIR/PTFEvirginal has a high tightness, even with multiple injections! The double PTFE film without elastomer content makes the septum highly pure and very interesting for trace analysis, among other things. In combination with our standard vials, it fits into all common GC/HPLC systems and, in the magnetic version, can also be moved with your autosampler.
Advantages of the ZeroSept®AIR septum:
- the thickness of the ZeroSept®AIR septum is similar to that of a conventional elastomer septum. This means that the flanging tool does not need to be readjusted for rolled edge closures.
- Due to the firm connection of the PTFE foils with the fluoropolymer perforated disk, the inserted ZeroSept®AIR septum does not fall out of the pre-assembled caps during transportation and the smooth, thin foils can no longer be pressed into the sample when piercing with the cannula.
- the syringe needle cannot punch out any elastomer material when piercing the septum and thus possibly contaminate the sample
- the air-filled cavity and two perforated PTFE films significantly reduce the evaporation of solvent and the associated change in concentration of the sample solution in the sample vial. This enables reproducible determinations from the same sample, e.g. within 24-36 hours after the initial injection. (see also the ZeroSept AIR closure leak test)”.
We offer the high-purity ZeroSept®AIR closure as a classic 100-piece pack in a screw-top jar with an orange lid and PTFE seal and also, for example, as a ready-to-use MOSH/MOAH kit consisting of 100 headspace vials and 100 high-purity ZeroSept®AIR ND18 closures.
We have described further information on the use of ZeroSept®AIR ND18 in MOSH/MOAH analysis in a separate report. In addition to MOSH/MOAH analysis, the high-purity and peak-free septa are also used in other analyses.

ZeroSept® FPM/PTFE
ZeroSept® FPM/PTFE combines maximum purity with excellent chemical resistance. The thin PTFE membrane prevents direct contact of Viton/FPM with the sample and thus protects against contamination. Ideal for precise analyses and can be used in a temperature range from -40 °C to 200 °C.

ZeroSept® SILP
ZeroSept® SILP are high-purity silicone closures. Our silicone is a new and particularly clean mixture and ensures low-interference measurements. The silicone septa are laminated with a PTFE barrier film. With 38° shore, the septum is also very soft. ZeroSept® SILP are available in the following variants.
