In the area of laboratories, larger quantities of organic solvents are consumed for rinsing processes, preparations and analysis. Instead of filling from large containers into smaller vessels, as was previously the case, these solvents can now be filled in the practical 5light® canister. On the one hand, this reduces the dangerous and cost-intensive storage of solvents to small quantities. On the other hand, no electrostatic discharge, according to the guidelines for laboratories ZH 1/119, is necessary.

The canisters are stackable, which significantly reduces the space required compared to other packaging. The dangerous and time-consuming transfer of solvents from large containers is no longer necessary. In addition, 5light® canisters do not require electrostatic dissipation. A sophisticated adapter system makes it easy to screw various withdrawal systems such as taps or dispensers onto the canisters.

The 5light® – canister is a universal canister especially for industry, trade and laboratory use. It is ideal for packaging, transportation as well as storage of hazardous chemicals and solvents. Double-sided fluorination provides double protection against permeation through plastic walls of chemical containers. This does not affect the excellent mechanical properties of polyethylene (HDPE), such as tensile strength and heat and cold behavior. With the help of fluorine treatment, the surface energy of HDPE is increased enormously. This reduces the dissolution of the solvent in the canister and reduces permeation. Chemical resistance with regard to flammable and toxic substances, on the other hand, is improved. In addition, the ultra-thin and Teflon-like coating reduces the penetration of oxygen and water vapor and also serves as an odor barrier.

Fluorinated PE/PP drain cock
The fluorinated LABC drain cocks (outlet cocks) made of F-PE/PP for canisters and drums allow easy, clean and fast transfer of liquids without gurgling. Fluorination of the outlet taps creates a nanofine HFC layer on the tap surface, which nearly achieves the chemical resistance of polymer HFC materials. The beveled spout can be conveniently inserted into narrow threaded necks and enables particularly easy and, above all, clean, centered filling of liquids. In addition, the drain cock has very good discharge properties. The basis for this is the patented aeration system, which allows flow rates of more than 5 liters per minute.

Plastic opening key
The opening key is an aid for opening the canister lids and enables easy unscrewing of the lids. With the two rings of different sizes, it is suitable for both small and large canister lids.

Thread adapter
The thread adapter connects the 5light® canister with the laboratory standard thread GL45. This allows direct volume dispensing with a dispenser from the storage vessel with analytical accuracy. Commercially available cylinder distributors enable tight hose connections, e.g. to pumps. Further thread adapters in other sizes are available on request.
