However, these thin foil septa have some disadvantages. It consists of a special fluoropolymer perforated disc bonded with thin PTFE films, creating an air-filled cavity. Compared to thin film septa, the ZeroSept\u00aeAIR septum has the following advantages:<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-db1a1d9 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"db1a1d9\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul>\n<li>It has a comparable thickness to conventional elastomer septa, which means that no adjustments to the flanging tool are required.<\/li>\n<li>Due to the tight connection of the PTFE foils with the perforated disc, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.labc.de\/en\/chromatography-with-zerosept-by-labc\/\">ZeroSept\u00aeAIR septum<\/a> remains securely in the closures and will not fall out during transport.<\/li>\n<li>Piercing with the cannula does not cause the foil or particles from it to be pressed into the specimen.<\/li>\n<li>The air-filled cavity and the two pierced PTFE films reduce solvent evaporation and concentration change of the sample solution.
