It is ideal for packaging, transportation as well as storage of hazardous chemicals and solvents. Double-sided fluorination provides double protection against permeation through plastic walls of chemical containers. This does not affect the excellent mechanical properties of polyethylene (HDPE), such as tensile strength and heat and cold behavior. With the help of fluorine treatment, the surface energy of HDPE is increased enormously. This reduces the dissolution of the solvent in the canister and reduces permeation. Chemical resistance with regard to flammable and toxic substances, on the other hand, is improved.
