The clamping device of the permeation cell Fluid-PermCell NW50-liquid is also referred to as the sample holder and is compatible with the permeation cell NW50 for gaseous collection media. The glass parts of the Fluid-PermCell NW50-liquid are made of laboratory glass with a tempering jacket. The sample holder with the test sample separates the permeation chemical from the collection medium during continuous contact. The lower part of the cell is completely filled with the collection medium and also has full contact with the test sample. This structure is fixed in a tripod holder with a few simple steps. For quick disassembly and assembly, the temperature control hoses are equipped with quick couplings including shut-off valves. The permeation cell is upright, saving test chemicals and reducing waste. According to EN 16523-1, the lid does not have to be completely filled with the permeation chemical, it is sufficient if the sample is completely wetted. This is a significant advantage of the Fluid-PermCell NW50-liquid over other cells listed in the standards. The deionized water remains in the cell for the entire test cycle and is disposed of at the end of the permeation test. The advantage of the &#8220;closed loop&#8221; is that resources are saved. The collection medium is used for the entire experiment; in the open circuit or &#8220;open loop&#8221; it is fed into the cell and discharged on the other side. Cells with &#8220;Open Loop&#8221; are outlined as attachments to the standard, but do not provide any benefits. The collection medium is continuously agitated to ensure that there is a constant concentration and temperature distribution in the collection medium. A 2MAG magnetic stirrer is supplied to match the stand of the permeation cell; it fits exactly under the cell so that stirring can be carried out using magnetic stir bars. Compared to other example cells in the relevant standards, in the case of the Fluid-PermCell NW50-liquid the collection medium is not pumped in a closed circuit or moved externally with an agitator. For temperature control we recommend the PT31 circulator from A.KR\u00dcSS Optronic GmbH. The thermostat with Peltier technology can temper the Fluid-PermCell NW50-liquid in a tempering range of 8 to -35 \u00b0C with a tempering accuracy of \u00b10.2 \u00b0C. Sampling during the permeation test is not necessary. The measuring electrode is immersed directly in the collection medium via a sealing GL25 fitting. The EN 16523-1:2015, EN16523-2:2015 (replaces EN 374-3) and DIN ISO EN 6529 standards recommend sensors for pH, ORP and conductivity measurement. LABC-Labortechnik recommends a WTW multimeter as the data logger in the Fluid-PermCell NW50-liquid workstation. It has three measurement lines so that up to three permeation cells can be monitored simultaneously. The electrode continuously monitors the permeation test and incidentally records the temperature. The multimeter can be easily connected to the PC with a USB cable and writes the data directly into Excel with the included PlugIn. In addition, the caching of data on a USB stick is possible. The display also shows the values.
